How to make a good home movie

With digital camcorders becoming more user-friendly, and with the advent of other digital accessories, everyone thinks that they're the next Spielberg and that their video of the family fun day at the beach is Oscar-worthy material. While camcorders can make your movie creation look good in terms of pure quality, it can't really make your movie interesting or watchable. And even though it is now possible to burn home movies onto DVDs and play them on DVD players, don't expect your little creation to sell out at your local Blockbuster.

But, there are some important elements that you simply must have if you want to make your own home movie. These are merely suggestions, and are in no way guaranteed to make your movie any good!

1. You'll need a digital camcorder. This is fairly obvious, so there is really no need to go into any more detail about this point.

2. You will also require some camcorder accessories. Things like a capture card in order to ensure you have enough room for all your memories, and a firewire cable to upload your movies onto your computer.

3. You may also want a DVD burner and player. Although this isn't the only way to share your movie (you can also email it to friends if you wish), you can give your film a cool and personalized touch by designing a DVD cover and sleeve to go with your movie.

4. You'll need subjects to film. This is incredibly important. I can not stress enough how vital this is. If you do not have anything to shoot or film, chances are your movie will really suck. Filming nothing does not make for any kind of decent film!

So, now you're set with the things you need to make a good home movie by using your own camcorder. You should have hours of fun as you try to make your own creation to share with the world. Now, action!
