The Apple iPhone
You knew that at some point, Apple would take it's wildly popular iPod MP3 player and use that as a vehicle to enter into the mobile phone market. After all, it simply seemed to be the next logical extension of the advancement of the iPod: play music, watch videos, and now, make and receive telephone calls. The Apple iPhone is scheduled to be launched for purchase in June 2007.
When released, the iPhone is scheduled to have a bunch of cool features that's supposed to make it irresistible to consumers. First and foremost, obviously, the Apple iPhone will have all the capabilities and function of the iPod. People will be able to play music and watch videos and TV shows on their iPhone. As well, the Apple iPhone will have the ability to connect to the internet via a wireless web browser. Users of the iPhone will be able to send emails, as well as text messages.
Perhaps the most innovative aspect of the iPhone is that all the functions and buttons are placed and used on a touch screen surface. There are no traditional buttons to press, and it is entirely designed to be used and operated with fingers. The screen has a virtual keyboard which can detect things such as spelling mistakes or induce auto-insert functions too. And, of course, being an Apple designed product, the iPhone also has the scroll-wheel design popularized by the iPod. Only, it's a virtual scroll wheel!
