Playstation emulators

A Sony Playstation emulator is something that does just that - it emulates Sony Playstation video games. This is done by copying or mimicking the Playstation game from its original Playstation format and onto a different format, say like a Microsoft Xbox 360. There are many advantages to doing this, one of which is that, if done correctly, a person can have a whole variety of video game systems contained into one unit, thereby making it very convenient to play many kinds of gaming consoles in one console.

As well, using a Playstation emulator can actually enhance the look, feel and game play of the video game being emulated. When a Sony Playstation game is emulated using the popular pSX emulator program, the graphics of the game can be improved and enhanced - often quite substantially. As a result, the game can look more sharper, cleaner and crisper on the screen. Also, you can use a Playstation emulator to reconfigure a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller to operate and function to Sony Playstation game specifications.

Of course, each subsequent release of the pSX program makes it easier and better for gamers to use. However, even though it is very easy to use for Sony Playstation video games, there has not as of yet been a Playstation emulator designed to mimic Playstation 2 games. Now, Sony is in development to create an emulator for the PS2.
