Tips for buying a refurbished Playstation

Everyone is always on the lookout for the best deal. Chances are, when you go shopping, you're always hunting for the best deal too. When it comes to electronics, more and more people are considering and choosing to purchase a refurbished electronic item rather than spending the extra money for a brand new unit.

When it comes to the Sony Playstation, there are tremendous bargains that can be had if you decide to purchase a refurbished Playstation or PSP over a brand new model. Now, before you shake your head and immediately run away at the thought of buying a refurbished PS, there are some things you should know.

A refurbished Playstation Portable does not mean an item that's been ripped apart and rebuilt. In many cases, a refurbished Sony Playstation is:

-A unit that's simply been returned to the store after purchase with nothing wrong with it at all.

-A video game console who's packaging was damaged while it was being shipped. The unit inside suffered no damage at all.

-An item with a slight scratch or other cosmetic surface damage that in NO WAY affects the performance of the Playstation or of a PSP

-A unit whose box was simply opened. Somebody wanted to peek inside the box, so they did. Even though the Playstation inside was never touched or moved, it is now a refurbished item.

As you can see, there are many definitions when it comes to buying a refurbished Sony Playstation. If you want to make certain the refurished game you're getting is in excellent condition, you should ask a respected retailer of refurbished products the following questions:

1. Is there still a warranty on the refurbished Playstation?

2. What is the reason that it is considered refurbished?

3. Are there return or exchange policies available?

4. Can you purchase an extended warranty for the refurbished Playstation or the refurbished PSP?

With some research and an open-mind, you can easily purchase a refurbished Playstation that is just as good as a new Playstation, and save yourself a ton of money in the process too. Think about it: if you purchased a used PS from a friend, would you not purchase a new Playstation whose had its box opened?
