Make your own game on the Xbox 360?

Imagine creating your own video game for your Xbox 360 - designing and playing your own content. Now, how cool would that be? Although it does seem like a wild fantasy, it isn't that far off as one might think. In fact, experts are predicting that the day may soon come where gamers can create, upload and play their own user-created content on the Xbox 360.

Of course, this would be a very long and complicated process. It would involve having users create their own games or video in a format that the Xbox 360 would support. It could also require reconfiguring the Xbox Live program or Xbox Marketplace so people can upload their own content onto those systems, rather than strictly downloading.

In terms of the idea, generating and sharing user-created content seems to be a great idea. More and more gamers and media users want to have total control over what they play and create. For further proof of this, check out one the world's most popular sites - YouTube. Here, people can create their own videos and share them with the world and download and view the content that they want to see. With the Xbox 360, people love downloading what they want, and they would love the chance to create and upload too.

The technology seems to be in place already, and it would simply be a matter of making some alterations. Even more importantly, though, the demand to be able to do this already seems to be strong and high. It appears that user-generated content is the next logical step of video game evolution.
