The Xbox 360 is a great home video game system, filled with amazing games and cool accessories that was developed and designed by Microsoft. Now, Microsoft hasn't necessarily released the next or brand new version of the popular Xbox 360. Rather, they have upgraded it and added some features to it. This new and improved Xbox 360 is known and called the Xbox 360 Elite.

The Xbox 360 Elite has a variety of excellent features that make it substantially different from its predecessor, the Xbox 360:

-While the Xbox 360 is a white console, the Xbox 360 Elite comes in jet black for a super-cool, sleek and menacing design.

-The Xbox 360 Elite comes with and includes an all-black wireless controller.

-Unlike the original Xbox or Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 Elite can upscale any DVD straight from the box.

Now, the Xbox 360 Elite won't be released for sale to the public until April 29, 2007. While the Xbox 360 Elite has some significant upgrades when compared to the Xbox 360, owners and users of the Xbox 360 need not worry, as an upgrade pack will be available so they can turn their plain old Xbox 360 into an Xbox 360 Elite!

It's important to note that Microsoft has repeatedly stated that people and gamers who already own, use, play and enjoy an Xbox 360 do not have to discard their Xbox 360 for the Xbox 360 Elite. Rather, launching the Elite represents a new way for Microsoft to reach people who are considering getting some form of Xbox, as opposed to other home video game systems. It is a good tactic, because people love having the opportunity to choose exactly what they want.

Consumers enjoy being able to visit their favorite electronic retailer and seeing all the different brands and versions that are available. If there is an Xbox 360 and an Xbox 360 Elite to look at, then a potential customer will spend more time looking at Microsoft then, say, Nintendo or Sony. Of course, it's only a matter of time before the competition does the exact same thing!
